Visiting The Lilla Rugs Warehouse
Rugs have a long and impressive history, but shopping for one still leaves customers apprehensive. We’re on a mission to alleviate those fears and make rug shopping a better experience for everyone.
A visit to the Lilla Rugs' warehouse offers the opportunity to see and feel our luxury handmade rugs. We have over 8,000 unique handmade rugs at our warehouse, an unparalleled selection - but it can be daunting if you don't know what you're looking for.
Before visiting our showroom, it is helpful to know what awaits you and how you can prepare for a visit to one of our locations. Our warehouse stocks one of the largest and the most expansive collections of Oriental rugs and carpets in the country.
Your first impression is everything, and most likely, your initial reaction after walking into the Lilla Rugs warehouse for the first time will be one of surprise. There is a lot to look at here.
Rugs are hanging on walls and galleries and arranged in tidy stacks of varying sizes. Our extensive inventory leaves more flexibility with style and price, so don’t be intimidated.
Someone will be there to greet you right away. We understand how overwhelming it might be, so we make an effort to tune in to the kind of shopping experience each customer is looking for.
We will ask you a few questions about your rug needs upon arrival, so here are some things to think about before coming to our warehouse:
MEASUREMENTS
How big does your rug need to be? An eyeball estimate might stand in the way of you taking one home when you realise that you actually need to go back and measure.
If you aren’t sure how to select a size, don’t fret! We suggest using a tape measure to work out popular rug sizes in the room before you start browsing. You can measure the floor (or wall) space you're looking to cover, thinking about minimum and maximum size for both length and width. Another important thing to consider is the placement of your rug; will the rug go under the door frames? If so, you will need to think carefully about the thickness.
Every rug in our warehouse is unique, so it is crucial to allow tolerances in each direction. And bear in mind that generally, a larger rug will be more expensive. Our size guide online will give you a place to start, and we can talk about it more during your visit.
COLOUR AND STYLE
Is your style more traditional or contemporary? Would you like something neutral or something bold? There is so much possibility in front of you that could make it difficult to nail down just one or two colours or styles.
If you need help with styling/colour coordination. A great way to kick off that selection process is to decide whether you want a light or dark palette. Consider your colour scheme, and bring along fabric swatches of existing furniture, wallpaper samples, or you can take a photo to show us. With this we can then offer our expertise and advice on what would work well in your space.
We keep a healthy inventory at all of our showrooms and encourage you to walk around. If a rug on our website interests you, please note its reference number so we can display the rug to you in the showroom.
Anything helps! For the curious, reading our blog on "What’s your interior design style" is a quick detour that might bring more clarity to the style dilemma. Feel free to schedule an appointment, or contact us with any questions you have.
