After months of self-isolation brought on by the global pandemic, economic challenges, record-high unemployment, and civil unrest, the promise of spring-summer holds greater meaning now more than ever. Indicative of how millions may be longing to uplift the mood, the spring-summer 2021 colour palette consists of brightening and calming shades.
The new season palette is characterised by colours that reflect hope and optimism, emphasising our desire for the pleasure and enjoyment colour can bring to our lives. The palette is part of the trend forecasting published by the Pantone Colour Institute for the fashion industry, specifically from London Fashion Week.
As you may know, the colours that become popular in the fashion world are often reliable indicators of the hues that will eventually pop up in home design. The Spring-Summer 2021 London Colour Palette is made of a range of 10 accent colours inspired by floral hues and nature.
A range of floral hues reflective of gardens in springtime awakens our spirit, reinvigorating our interest in colour that inspires feelings of much-needed optimism. Leading the charge is Marigold, Indigo Bunting, Lava Falls, Illuminating, Blue Atoll, Pirouette, Pickled Pepper, Purple Rose, Orange Ochre and Beach Glass - followed by Baby's Breath, Macchiato, Polar Night, Ultimate Grey and Sphagnum.
As history teaches us, significant restrictions and depression periods can push creativity and fantasy beyond usual bounds. Infused with a genuine authenticity that continues to be increasingly important, colours for Spring/Summer 2021 combine a level of comfort and relaxation with sparks of energy that encourage and uplift our moods.
Renewal seems to be the overall theme. With millions of people around the world still working from home for the foreseeable future, many WFHers are craving a shot of colour. Today, we have put together a post guiding you through some of our favourite spring-summer colours, featuring the very best of our Persian and Oriental rug collections here at Lilla Rugs.
LAVA FALLS

Reds were somewhat sparse in the spring 2021 Pantone colours, so Lava Falls stood out. This hot molten red erupts with flowing energy. Despite its darkness, this shade is warm and energetic, helping to offset the cool pastels that ruled the season. Deep and warm: Lava Falls is a grand colour for unique handmade pieces, a statement for your decoration.
You can't go wrong with a statement red oriental rug, below we have selected two of our most popular designs.

But even if they don’t, we look forward to showcasing them in our homes. Express your senses with this 2021 spring-summer colour trend - it's a subtle hue representing water, bringing fluidity and calmness to your home decor.

Another cheerful colour for high-end furniture pieces; this shade is a perfect blend of delicacy and character. It's ideal for refined, eclectic decor but also well applied for children's playrooms.

The playful colour trend this year is much needed for a lively spring-summer season. Pirouette adds a tender touch to any colour palette: A beautiful colour to mix with the prints and pastel hues of spring-summer 2021. But also a pleasing hue to use as an all-over shade for delicate interiors. This soft, almost sheer pink infuses romance and gives an allure extremely bon ton and graceful. Bestowing tenderness but also femininity to your decor.
These Persian rugs are so versatile, unique in both colour and pattern, beautiful in your spring/summer pastel interior.
