MAKE IT ROUND

We are seeing a lot of round tables in dining rooms lately, and we love it! Shape plays an important role when choosing your new dining table. When you’re considering what shape to bring to the space - why not consider round.
The round dining table dates back to the Middle Ages, and we can see why it has stood the test of time. This layout has become popular again in home decor trends over recent years, and we can see this trend staying throughout 2020. A round table is known to be more intimate; creating the perfect setting for deeper conversations, as everyone can talk to each other and maintain eye contact. To prevent overcrowding on a round table, the general rule is; each person should have 60cm to sit on (of course this depends on your choice of dining chair also).
If you are planning to place a rug underneath your dining table; remember, it doesn't have to be circular. However, below are two choices from our Persian rug circle range:
PULL UP A BENCH

Just when you thought dining on a bench wasn’t going to have a comeback, here comes 2020 giving us the ultimate throwback. We are seeing more and more people introducing dining benches as both space-savers and also as fun options for families.
A dining bench is a good option because it is sleek, easy on the eye, and cosy all at the same time. You definitely can’t beat that combination! It can instantly infuse an oh-so-charming character into your space, as well as being highly versatile. A great option for families with kids, as the bench seat, can be easily pushed under the table to make room for foot traffic and extra space when not using the table. It makes perfect sense!
MIX & MATCH

Gone are the days of matchy-matchy. Mixing and matching your dining chairs is a great way to revitalise your dining room - so why miss an opportunity to express your style?
Not all your furniture needs to look the same, choose one statement piece and work around it. It’s all about taking that element and updating it by mixing in sleek ways to give it a fresh, eclectic and laid back look. Employ a vibrant rug underneath the table to draw the colours of the room together in a pinch. We understand the freedom to mix and match can also be daunting. So take a look at our favourite mismatched-chair looks and get inspired!
We have carefully picked a selection of our decorative Persian rugs to beautifully complement this design idea below:

BRING IN THE GREEN

Plants are taking over and we are living for it! Natural elements are coming in strong into the decor world - bringing greenery indoors has become a new blooming trend and one that is here to stay.
Instagram-friendly and bursting with ‘wellbeing benefits’, plants will always have a special place in the home. They not only provide filtered air, removing allergens in the air; but they also add colour and texture to your space. The touch is not only adding in one plant, or two, it’s about embracing the room, removing awkward corners and bringing in as many plants as possible. Our hopes are that plant hangings will become the new chandeliers. Choosing a dining room table has never been so exciting! A little colour goes a long way when it comes to your dining room set - so shake things up a bit without overwhelming the space. Over the coming months, we are going to see the ‘Retro Glam’ design look becoming more and more popular. Mixing old and new and colourful elements, makes the eyes pop and this why it is a favourite amongst interior designers.
Bold colours are always a good idea; especially if they are matched together for an entire bold look. People are starting to think outside a rectangle, instead, creating a statement piece with a hexagonal and asymmetrically shaped dining table. Paired with unique, sculptural touches and a set of colourful chairs; this gives the room a sleek, defined style and adds a personal touch.
The dining room is a place that will be utilised more frequently in 2020 and that means it has to be both pretty and practical. Happy Dining!
