Farahan is located in central Iran, south of Tehran - near the cities Arak, Kashan and Qum & was home to the original Farahan rugs. These rugs are made with a cotton foundation and have a soft, thin wool knotted in an asymmetrical way. They are known for their high quality, with beautiful natural dyes. They are one of the most durable of Persian rugs and can be very valuable. This rug is made in Afghanistan, using this prestigious Persian design.
